Message from the President

“Staying Alive… Building for the Future”

Those of you who have brought your business through this difficult economy—the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression—know what it is like to face some difficult decisions. Last year the Chamber coped with some very difficult decisions. However, under the leadership of our President, Barbara Marchand, the Chamber not only stayed alive but is now planning to build a better business community in Alameda.

The Alameda Chamber of Commerce is the home for our business community and we are committed to build on the services and commitment we make to our members. From networking events, to the welcome new members get from the Ambassador Committee, the Chamber wants everyone to feel a part of our Chamber. We try to give each member the kind of support they need and our door is open for you, so come visit.

A big part of the value of becoming a chamber member is the ability to participate in a variety of venues that are designed to allow business people to meet, become acquainted, and examine ways that they might facilitate growth in their business.  Attending an event benefits more than just your business - talking about the issues of the day with other active business owners and managers allows you to become more grounded in your community.
